The Detroit Regional Chamber congratulates Detroit Promise Manager Christine Rogers and Detroit Promise Marketing and Engagement Manager Nyia Slade on being selected as fellows for New Leaders Council (NLC) Detroit’s 2025 program.

NLC recruits leaders who have the expertise, experience, and resilience to implement change and provides them with the skills and network they need to succeed. Starting in January, Rogers and Slade will begin the NLC Institute, which is delivered in chapters throughout the country. The Institute creates space for intensive leadership development and meaningful connection with other changemakers – a key element in making lasting impact.
The Institute culminates in a capstone, where fellows identify a project that fills a need in the community and is aligned with their passions and goals.
