Brad Wieferich, P.E., is the Director of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). He has served the department for 27 years in several capacities, most recently as the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Engineer.
Wieferich has also held the positions of Director for the Bureau of Development, Engineer of Design, and Manager of the Marshall Transportation Service Center. Wieferich is a proven problem solver, and his focus on innovation has made MDOT a national leader in transportation asset management.
Wieferich is recognized as a national leader in transportation. He serves on the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Board of Directors and Council on Highways and Streets. He also represents the department on the State Transportation Innovation Council and the Council on Future Mobility and Electrification.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Michigan State University.
