Debbie Stabenow serves as a U.S. senator for the state of Michigan, continuing to lead on public policy and improve the lives of Michiganders and Americans. She is also Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.
Throughout her years in public service, Stabenow has blazed trails and opened doors for women and girls. Among her many “firsts” – she was the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Michigan.

She helped write the Affordable Care Act and has passed major reforms to bring down the cost of prescription drugs. Her bipartisan Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Act is transforming the way high-quality community behavioral health services are delivered in the U.S.
