Kim Johnson is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Developing Kingdoms in Different Stages (Developing K.I.D.S.), a nonprofit organization in Detroit. The organization serves over 1,000 youth annually through four free, high-quality program activities of youth development, family engagement, workforce development, and community support.
Johnson’s experiences in education and the non-profit sector drove her to build a community-based organization meeting the needs of 5-18-year-old youth in struggling schools and economically challenged communities.
A native Detroiter, Johnson is an active member of the Central State University Alumni Association and was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2024.
After earning her bachelor’s degree, Johnson studied at the graduate level at Wayne State University, Central Michigan University, and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
