Paul Begala is a Democratic strategist who serves as a political contributor for CNN, appearing frequently on CNN’s “The Situation Room” as well as other programs on all CNN networks.
Formerly a co-host of “Crossfire,” CNN’s political debate program, Begala first entered the national political scene after his consulting firm helped get President Bill Clinton elected in 1992. He served in the Clinton administration as counselor to the president, a role that made him responsible for defining and defending the administration’s agenda and serving as a principal public spokesperson.
Begala is the author of several bestselling books, including “Is Our Children Learning? The Case Against George W. Bush” and “It’s Still the Economy, Stupid.” He earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Texas.
