Tiffany King is the Equity and Inclusion Officer at the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). She leads MSHDA’s Office of Equity and Engagement, which handles advancing internal and external equity and inclusion efforts through engagement, planning, and policy design. MSHDA’s Office of Equity and Engagement is responsible for leading the State’s effort to create Michigan’s first five-year Statewide Housing Plan.
King has functioned as a community development and technical assistance specialist working with rural and urban communities to promote the development of quality affordable housing. She also served as a policy specialist for the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC), where she ensured that Michigan SmartZones were properly using captured revenue through tax increment financing to accelerate growth in technology-based businesses and jobs in Michigan.
Additionally, she provided policy support to promote community development programs such as MEDC’s Redevelopment Ready Communities Program, Michigan Community Revitalization Program, and the Community Development Block Grant Program.
