Custom FRIENDS + Red Cross socks for Donors Who Give Blood Nov. 18 – Dec. 8

DETROIT (Nov. 18, 2024) – In celebration of 30 years of the TV show FRIENDS, the American Red Cross invites eligible blood donors to gather their friends and make an appointment to donate blood and help patients who depend on lifesaving blood. Those who come to give Nov. 18 – Dec. 8 will receive two pairs of custom FRIENDS + Red Cross socks while supplies last.

Donations are critical to the blood supply during the holidays – a time when blood donations often decline. Donors of all blood types are needed, especially platelet donors and type O donors.

In the spirit of FRIENDSgiving, donors can give with meaning. The FRIENDS + Red Cross socks are made possible in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. For more details, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Friends.

The Red Cross offers three ways to make an appointment to donate at your convenience:

The Red Cross reminds donors that they can give blood after receiving a flu shot, provided they are feeling well and are symptom-free on the day of their donation appointment. Likewise, there is no deferral or wait time after receiving the updated COVID-19 vaccination.
