“A titan of Washington and the business community passed this week: Tom Donohue, the long-serving Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and American Trucking Association. Tom was a character, a friend, a confidant of presidents, an effective leader – but most importantly – a man who cared deeply about the American experiment and the success of people from all walks of life.

I continue to be indebted to Tom as he countlessly rallied support for economic growth initiatives of the Bush Administration and for my two U.S. Senate confirmation processes. Lisa and I send our heartfelt sympathies to the extended Donohue and U.S. Chamber families.”
