- Increase enrollment by 20% of students within 12 months of high school graduation
- Increase participation in college readiness interventions by 20%
Postsecondary Access Goal
To increase the percentage of high school students who are enrolling into postsecondary education within 12 months of graduation.
Indicators And Targets For 2030:
Why Focus On Access?
Enrollment in postsecondary education – which is one of the greatest catalysts for economic mobility – is declining throughout the Detroit region. It is important to get more students in the door to pursue the opportunity of earning a degree or high-quality credential.
Equity Focus
A dedicated effort will be made to expand early postsecondary options in high school – especially among those with high populations of Black and Latinx students, who are typically underrepresented in this area.
Partners Committed To Improving Postsecondary Access
Over the next decade, Detroit Drives Degrees will continue to lead and convene partners to implement the postsecondary access strategies outlined in the Compact’s strategic plan. We appreciate the leadership of the organizations below who have pledged to support this work.
